Lipid Recovery Serum - LRS, a unique breakthrough in skin treatment technology, now available from Skincare-MD. Lipid Recovery Serum (LRS) in a soft gel ampoule (capsule) is loaded with natural lipids, anti-inflammatory agents, nutrients and moisturizers.

LRS has been specifically formulated as a post treatment therapy for skin which has been depleted of its natural lipid content by the use of laser resurfacing techniques, chemical peels, AHA treatments, glycolics, Tretinoin (vitamin A), abrasive facial scrubs and the like. It is dispersed in the form of a soothing, non-irritating and easy-to-apply polymer matrix serum.

Lipid recovery serum contains human identical, plant derived sphingolipids which occur naturally in the stratum corneum of human skin (at levels up to 49%). When depleted of this "lipid barrier", the skin cannot maintain optimum moisture levels necessary for healthy skin. LRS replaces lost lipids, helping to minimize TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss), yet it goes a step further. In addition, the LRS contains vitamin E Linoleate, and anti-oxidant used to "trap" free radicals which can impair and even destroy sensitive skin cell components. The LRS also contains peroxidized corn oil, a potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent proven in clinical studies to reduce erythema (redness) after 48 hours of use.

With the advent of laser resurfacing treatments, abrasive facial scrubs, alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and the clinical use of chemicals for facial peels, the need to replenish the lost lipid barrier now becomes critical.

LRS is equally effective for mild irritation and redness that occasionally results from the products of an advanced skin care program.
