The link between these age-old remedies and beautiful, clear skin is a group of naturally occuring fruit acids collectively referred to as Alpha Hydroxy Acids, or AHA's. These organic fruit acids can be found in a variety of fruits and foods; for example, lactic acid in sour milk, tartaric acid in grapes, malic acid in apples and citric acid in citrus fruits.

Widely acclaimed in scientific circles, Glycolic Acid is thought to be the most effective and suitable fruit acid for cosmetic application. Since Glycolic Acid has the smallest molecular structure of all AHAs, it is believed to possess the greatest penetration potential.
