 Step 3: Correct with Clear -- In Step 3, you will repair the damage to skin cells, correct hyperpigmentation, even out skin tones and roughness, and enhance the penetration of ingredients.
Obagi Nu-Derm Clear lightens dark areas in the skin such as freckles, age and liver spots.
Directions: Step 3 of the Obagi Nu-Derm Regimen. Measure 1/2 to 1 gram Obagi Nu-Derm Clear and apply evenly on entire face, morning and evening, including the eyelids, extending to the hairline, over the ears and ending with a feathering motion from the jawline down the neck. Remove any excess amount by the eyes. Wait 2 minutes and apply a second coat over darker pigmented lesions.
 To measure 1/2 gram of product, just use the lines of "OBAGI" on the front of the products. The distance between the O-B-A is exactly 1/2 gram. Or, the distance from the tip of your pinky finger to the first joint also equals approximately 1/2 gram.
For even distribution and application of the Obagi Nu-Derm products, use your left hand (if you're a "righty") as a palette for the prescribed amount of product. Then take half of it and apply to one side of your face at a time. For best results, all Obagi Nu-Derm products should be thoroughly rubbed in until totally absorbed.
Note: Patients with dark skin should use Obagi Nu-Derm Clear on the entire face once a day, preferably in the morning, and apply at night only on the darkest areas. Once a desired color tone is achieved, use Obagi Nu-Derm Clear only as needed.
If your skin becomes red and dry at the beginning of the treatment, you may need to use the Obagi Nu-Derm Control products (Obagi Nu-Derm Eye Cream, Obagi Nu-Derm Action and Obagi Nu-Derm Tolereen).

Ingredients
Contains 4% Hydroquinone in a base of water, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, PPG-2 myristyl ether propionate, sodium lauryl sulfate, TEA-salicylate, lactic acid, phenyl trimethicone, tocopheryl acetate, sodium metabisulfite, ascorbic acid, methylparaben, Complex 272ยจ (saponins), disodium EDTA, BHT, propylparaben.
Caution: Some skincare products that contain hydroquinoine may also contain the preservative sodium metabisulfite, a sulfite that may cause serious allergic type reactions (e.g., hives, itching, wheezing, anaphylaxis severe asthma attacks) in certain susceptible persons.
Pregnancy and Nursing Advisory
In an effort to avoid injury to the developing baby, most skin care topicals have not been clinically tested on pregnant or nursing women; therefore, we advise that they not be used. Products containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid,hydroquinoine and tretinoin or similar topicals such as products containing retinol should NOT be used when pregnant or nursing. You should also discontinue the use of skin care products containing these ingredients for at least one month before contemplating pregnancy. If in doubt, please refer to the product insert for further information and consult with your physician.
Excessive Redness Advisory
At times, the application of too much hydroquinoine can cause the skin to become excessively red. If this occurs, decrease the frequency of using topicals such as Clear and Blender or omit altogether for a few days.
Reaction Advisory
What to do if you are having a reaction:
Any topical can react adversely with the skin. If you are having a reaction to a topical, please discontinue ALL topicals and apply a 1% hydrocortisone cream (available over the counter) or Obagi NuDerm Tolereen which contains a 1% hydrocortisone. Call us for further advice.
