A Quick Overview of Our Advanced Skincare Products:  The Kinerase line of skin care products contain kinetin, the same natural substance that helps plants retain moisture, to help your skin regain and retain a healthier, more hydrated appearance.
The Kinerase line of skin care products provide gentle moisturization and can be used for sensitive skin, fragile skin, retinoid intolerance and rosacea, eczema or dermatitis. The Kinerase skin care products do not cause sun sensitivity, nor do they contain any skin care acids (i.e., Glycolic, Salicylic, etc.).  Many of the MD Forte advanced skin care products contain glycolic acid in different strengths. Glycolic acids are part of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) compounds. Applying glycolic acid products results in exfoliation. As the skin becomes conditioned to glycolic compound treatments, stronger concentrations of glycolic compound can be used. This results in a deeper exfoliation without the discomfort or burning, redness or irritation. It is important to maintain the program daily (or twice a day) to avoid the buildup of keratin and dead cells. In this way, moisturizing creams will penetrate more deeply.
 The Obagi-C Rx System combines a patented formula of 4% prescription strength Hydroquinone (lightening agent for uneven pigmentation) and professional strength Vitamin C to deliver superior penetration to all levels of the skin resulting in Photolumines Skin. The name was chosen to describe the more radiant, luminescent skin that results from the combination of well-known ingredients such as Vitamins C and E, hydroquinones, hyaluronidase (to help hydrate the skin), glycolics (for exfoliation) and sunscreens.  Sun damaged skin often shows early wrinkling, areas of uneven pigmentation, and areas of scaling (actinic keratoses which are precursors of skin cancer). Hormonal changes from aging, contraceptives and pregnancy can also cause brown spots. Many of these problems can be improved by using the Obagi Nu-Derm System.
The Obagi Nu-Derm Advanced Skin Care System is designed to restore health to sun and smoke damaged skin, as well as even out pigmentary problems involving the face and other areas of the body. The Nu-Derm system corrects surface discoloration and blemishes. It also penetrates into the skin to stimulate skin cell renewal, improve circulation and helps to rebuild collagen. The tretinoin (anti-oxidant Vitamin A cream—brand name Retin-A cream) in the Obagi Nu-Derm System stimulates increased vascularity to the important collagen layer of skin, thereby causing the collagen to thicken. Tretinoin - Antioxidant That Improves Wrinkles
 Tretinoin is an antioxidant that helps rejuvenate the skin by improving the texture and blood supply of the deeper collagen fibers. Tretinoin is also helpful in reversing damage caused by toxins such as smoking and irradiation from the sun. Tretinoin also helps thicken the skin; and because of this, it improves fine wrinkling. Tretinoin can be added to any skin care regime for more aggressive results. Patients new to the use of Tretinoin are encouraged to start with 0.025% tretinoin nightly to help condition the skin. This can be used daily or every other day. Once the tube is used up, you can advance to 0.05% tretinoin nightly. A cream base tretinoin is preferred over the gel form. Sunscreens That Exceed American Academy of Dermatology Recommendations
 As with all advanced skin care systems, use of a broad spectrum sunscreen is an essential final step. It is important to note that not all sunscreens are created equal. In fact, most do not block long UVA radiation. The term "broad spectrum," a term used liberally to describe sunscreen, actually means very little. The FDA is drafting more relevant labeling laws, but these will not be in effect for several years. The labeled SPF number is a measure of protection against UVB and only some short UVA, but not long UVA. These long UVA rays are now known to cause photo-aging and are likely to be involved in the more aggressive skin cancers, such as melanoma.
